- The 4-H and FFA programs are designed to teach their members valuable character and skills development. The animal projects teach them the meaning of responsibility, hard work and the basics of running a small business. In addition to regular project meetings and field days, members will invest hundreds of hours over the next year selecting, feeding, cleaning and handling the project animals in order to prepare them for the annual fair. At the fair, animals are then judged by professional livestock evaluators to determine the sale order and give feedback to the exhibitors. This allows members to use what they have learned and apply that knowledge toward next year’s project.
- We encourage everyone to come to the auctions and make a purchase to help our young people meet their goals and reward them for all of their hard work and commitment to becoming the leaders of tomorrow.
- The Jackson County Youth Fair Livestock Auctions showcase our local 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors and their market projects. Through this program, members learn to raise quality animals and develop valuable skills. The auctions provide a marketing venue for their project which is the culmination of 4-H or FFA member’s current learning experience.

This is to invite and request your support of the Jackson County Fair Youth Auction through a donation to the Jackson County Youth Builders. The Youth auction will be held on Saturday, starting at 1:00pm at the MEC Arena. We would of course prefer that you attend in person to bid on the animals and make your own purchase to support this event. The alternative in the event that participation in the auction itself is not possible is a donation to the Jackson County Youth builders. This is an organization representative of the entire county. Its purpose is to take your donations and bid on and purchase livestock to support youth from ALL of Jackson County. We strive to maintain an floor for prices for any youth regardless of where they live in the county in order that they may enjoy a more profitable learning experience. We are now working to continue this effort and request your support in doing so. Please if possible come to the auction on Saturday to purchase animals yourself. If this is not possible, a donation to the Jackson County Youth Builders is requested. Please send to Jackson County Youth Builders, c/o Cammie Pearson, P.O. Box 236, Edna, TX 77957.
